I’m trying to work out how to get a RSS feed working and can not find a simple way of doing this.
Because a tool like Expose4 can and will be used by photographs, artists (many other uses) it’s important that we can generate a RSS feed where people can subscribe at any level of the hierarchy.
Personally I’d be using this at the “collections” and at the “album” level, probably being the most important two.
It looks like with the XML being generated with a little effort it would not be to difficult to fully support RSS feeds. I’m far from being an expert here though!
This could all be controlled with the settings a user needs in the Manage Albums page and the “Subscribe” button could be in the control tool bar at the bottom or user specified at top right or left.
On a final note. Support for Cooliris would round things off perfectly. Again, I think your really close with the XML your generating except you would probably need to generate a new Cooliris XML supporting thumbnail and “largest sixed picture” only.
You’d not need to add the silly little Cooliris icon on every thumbnail but have a Cooliris button in the toolbar that would only appear in the Album view.
Over and Out,
Once again, great work and impressive gallery,
Nigel.
