is it possible to have the software read the image information from the metadata that it uses for the date & location? this would be fantastic especially as a number of camera's now have gps location info.

The feature of getting the EXIF meta data, when uploaded the images has been suggested before, and is on the future feature list.

I don't know the name of the GPS data standard. Do you know it?
