ok I've seen futile attempts to solve this in countless other threads so I'm not real optimistic here but here goes..

This was working fine for the past year+.. magically, it stopped letting me add pictures to a newly created album. No errors, just.. nothing. I try to add from upload, or bucket.. it acts like it is working and just goes off and does nothing.

System check reveals a fatal error of session save path isn't writable... no other information. I proceed to modify php.ini and put it in about 50 different directories on my site in hopes a making expose happy.. no luck. I verify the absolute and relative path to my site directory multiple times, ensure the ~/tmp directory is there and (effing lame) perms are 777.

Any ideas here?

The requirement to "completely uninstall expose" and the need to redo several hundred photos and dozens of albums, just to upgrade or reinstall expose, is unspeakably lame. The only way I will ever do that will be to install a new solution.

It's really too bad. This seems like a great app other than never being able to re-install or upgrade it without starting over. And of course the annoying effing session save path crap.

You don't need to "reupload" the images.

Just move the images and xml files with the album data to another location. Uninstall, reinstall and move the images and album data back.
When asking for help, then please include:
- URL
- Expose version
- Joomla version
- SEF status (on/off)

Always RTFM!
