Hello @all!

I am new to this forum and english is not my mothertongue, so please be patient...

I installed Expose 4.6.3 alpha3c, which works like a charm. So I installed as well the recent scroller 3.0 beta3 and put it on the startpage. I have choosen to load just 5 images, so the scroller would not slow down the page.

After a while, working on another projekt, I noticed, that my Firefox 3.6.3 was slowing down to about zero. I took a look at the Windows task manager and saw, that the CPU was going to explode at about 90% of work!

I closed the window with the scroller and CPU went back to normal. Because I did not believe, what I saw, I published my site in a Joomla forum and asked to have a look at it... I received the same feedback from several users using FF or IE (less strong), which had the same effect!

It seems the flash programming of the scroller fills up the CPU power?

Thanks for any feedback or, if already exist, pointing me to another solution.

The scroller does not use flash. Just some DHTML

What are the specs of your system? I do not have any slowdowns at all. Does my site: www.gotgtek.net (scroller is at the top middle) slow you down?

Oh... Hi, admin!

What a positive suprise, I did not expect, that somebody will answer my post.
My specs are more or less up to date. I have an AMC Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+, running at 3GHz and 4GB of RAM... I think alot of people here in Brazil got weaker computers

I tried to achieve the same effect at your site www.gotgtek.net, but your pics are alot smaller than those I had. Nevertheless, the CPU Threshold went slightly up.

One of the demo sites I made for the customer is still up, please have a look at mbpb-d3.mcm-swiss.net where I put it back for you.

Please load the Windows Task-Manager before opening the link. Go to the end of the site, where the scroller is active and have a close look at the CPU Threshold... it will go up. Now leave this site open for some time, work at you things and it will slow down you machine! If you are able to call the Task-Manager again, the CPU will be around 100%... both of them.

As I have this effekt with a heavy Yoo_Template, somebody suggested that it could be some kind of conflict with the Mootools... would this be possible?

I may not replicate this error every time, and I do not know a way, where it for sure will do this effect. Working with 3 Computers, all Windows XP based, with different browsers, after some time I always had this same problem. As I got a feedback of another forum user, that he had encountered this problem on my testsite, I wrote to you...

I do not know for sure, if it is an incompatibility with the template nor if it is really a problem... but as it has to be working on any machine with all up to date browsers I may not risk this effect on a client side.

Thanks for your kind reply and I hope this matter will be solved, from you side or another, as I really think Expose is a really perfect piece of code!

I would try switching templates to one of the basic joomla templates (default ones) and see if it was a yoo component or another module conflicting with the scroller.

Could a person experiencing this problem contact me?

Just post a reply here and I will contact you.
When asking for help, then please include:
- URL
- Expose version
- Joomla version
- SEF status (on/off)

Always RTFM!

Hi,

I'm not sure if the issue i am having is related to this one or not.

I have a site that when the scroller is published on certain pages those pages take forever to load and sometime cause the css not to load.

I'm sure it's some kind of conflict but i can't seem to work out what. I have tried turning off other modules and plugins but the problem persist until i unpublish the scroller.

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

The site is live at www.bcfc.com.au with the module turned off, but let me know if you want to have a look and i will turn it on in some less important page.

thanks
