Hello,

I have installed Joomla 1.5.10 and Expose 4.6.3 alpha3c. When i try to upload something a error apears : could not communicate with the server. I know there are many discusions about it. So i have read and done everithing i could find on the internet. Still no results.

When i run the system check i have 3 errors:

1. WebServer to PHP interface apache Warning Warning
⇒ Recommended apache2handler interface.

2. Current version 4.6.3 alpha3c Warning Warning
3. Warning /home/drushca/public_html/website/components/com_expose/expose/xml/albums.xml File is corrupted or has been altered

I noticed that the 2 and 3 error shoul be so (i created a new album).

Clould this be because i do not have apache2handler interface?
I also tried to upload photos direct to bucket folder and the local Album manager. I cannot upload anything in both cases beacuse of the file permissions. I cannot change them throw FTP client or cpanel on my host.

Does anyone have any idea what i should do?

Thank you and sorry for my poor english.

Now i found the secfilterengine method. Worked partially: now when i try to upload photos a sucess message apears (finished uploading photos), but they do not appear anywhere in the manager; and i can`t find them trough the expose folders. I think the problem is with the permissions. (all folders are 755 and all files are 644). Dose anyone have any ideea what i can do?

Did you install Expose on the actual site, using the J! installer, or uploaded it by FTP?
Trial and error, but first a backup!

I have the same problem and i tied to do them below. i did but when write a line in .htaccess (as you said below) after i saved it, then my web site doesnt work..

Help please...

Ok ok, PHP 5.x.x, usually they use the latest release...
Two files to update:
components/com_expose/expose/manager/misc/domxml-php4-to-php5.php
components/com_expose/expose/manager/amfphp/amf-core/app/Gateway.php

download at http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/expose/frs/
If it still doesn't work, then you need to add a line in .htaccess:
php_flag zend.ze1_compatibility_mode 0

(Thanks to bastone7)

A part of System check report..

Library activations (php.ini)
Checking available and activated libraries on server
Setting Value FrontEnd BackEnd
DOM or DOMXML extention (A) installed Pass Pass
DOM or DOMXML extention ( installed Pass Pass
libXML extention installed Pass Pass
GD extention (A) not installed Fatal warning
⇒ Must be installed and activated in php.ini for manipulating the images (like resizing, watermark...). You probably need to ask your host to activate it.

You need GD to upload images.

You need to provide more info if you want help to get Expose running.
When asking for help, then please include:
- URL
- Expose version
- Joomla version
- SEF status (on/off)

Always RTFM!
